Ester Bartels designed a publication in which she tried to discover a connection between her personal expenses and the jungle of the financial and economic world. Using her own receipts she lead us through the jargon of the Dutch daily financial paper, 'Het Financieele Dagblad', and the inscrutability of financial corporations and products. 'Tot ziens' (Good bye) is a report of a quest for meaning, which ironically starts and ends with 'U heeft betaald, tot ziens', 'You have paid, good bye'.
